Injection Guidance Background
Needle EMG guided injection uses a hypodermic needle electrode for the injection of neuromodulator drugs. We provide a superior injection site targeting system. The need to increase accuracy when injecting neuromodulators has been highlighted by recent FDA reviews of the dangers of peripheral effects. It behooves us all to become more accurate and reduce concentrations and volumes of injected drugs. There are numerous advantages to embracing EMG guidance:
Needle EMG Guided Injection Benefits
-
Helps identify involved muscles i.e. pre-injection physio-pathological evaluation or pre-intervention evaluation. This is especially useful for areas that may be surrounded by essential nerves and blood vessels.
Pre-injection EMG evaluation can help the clinician assess EMG activity in previously injected sites, at follow-up encounters. This can provide useful information for drug titration before re-injection, and can contribute to reducing repeat injectate dose/volume, further limiting drug diffusion into adjacent areas.
