The majority of lessons in these courses are highlighting specific muscles. After describing the muscle in detail, injection specifications for treating the muscle are shared. However, the courses include extra content, too.

Extra Content

All courses include a lesson about the benefits of combined musculoskeletal BoNT injection guidance techniques. This lesson discusses point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), EMG guidance, and ESTIM guidance as they relate to therapeutic neuromodulator injections.

Head & Neck Course

The head and neck course includes two additional lessons: Orofacial Applications of Botulinum Neurotoxin; and Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical Dystonia. 

The Orofacial Applications of Botulinum Neurotoxin lesson covers orofacial movement disorders, like bruxism and frey syndrome. Further, it discusses the use of BoNT to treat these disorders. 

The Diagnosis and Treatment of Cervical Dystonia lesson discusses cervical dystonia in detail (e.g., forms, signs, symptoms, etc.). It introduces the treatments for cervical dystonia and how EMG-guidance can be helpful for therapeutic injections in those cases.  

Upper Limb Course

The upper limb course includes a lesson about the management of upper limb spasticity and the management of focal hand dystonia. 

The Management of Upper Limb Spasticity lesson goes into detail about the causes, symptoms, and treatment of upper limb spasticity. It also introduces the value of EMG and/or ESTIM guidance for injection procedures in this area.

The Management of Focal Hand Dystonia lesson discusses this movement disorder and the muscles involved. It gives a detailed overview of botulinum toxin application for treating this disorder. Further, the value of ESTIM- and ultrasound-guided procedures are emphasized.

In addition to the lessons for individual upper limb muscles, there are lessons that describe larger muscle groups. This includes the muscles of the shoulder, the extrinsic muscles of the back, and the muscle compartments of the hand. 

Lower Limb Course

The lower limb course includes a lesson about managing lower limb spasticity. This lesson covers common causes, treatments, and postures seen in lower limb spasticity. Further, the lesson delves into the use of botulinum toxin and ESTIM and EMG guided procedures for treating these disorders.

Beyond the lessons for individual muscles, this course includes introductory lessons that introduce overarching groups of muscles. For example, Overview of the Muscles of the Hip, The Medial Compartment of the Thigh, etc.
